Overview

This program is designed to identify talent at an early stage. It gives the student a chance to test drive working in the automotive repair environment to see if it is right for them. They will have the opportunity to work in our shops on customer’s vehicles performing a variety of services. This is a paid internship program with opportunity of full time employment after graduation.  Further career training is available through Kauffman Tire and South Georgia Technical College.

Responsibilities

Tires

The Intern (T9) technician will be responsible for learning tire service. Expectations include:

  • Installation of Tires
  • Wheel Balance
  • Install
  • TPMS service
  • Tire vibration diagnostics with Hunter Road Force equipment
  • Flat repair procedures
  • rotation and balance service with understanding of tire wear patterns and setting up alignment or alignment quick check equipment

 

Service

The Intern (T9) technician will be learning basic preventative maintenance. Expectations include:

  • Oil change services
  • Additive services
  • Engine/cabin air filter service
  • Completing our Complementary Vehicle Inspection process.

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in a Kauffman approved school automotive program
  • Must be 17 years of age
  • Must have a current, valid Georgia driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Must have a school attendance letter indicating that they are a full-time student; that their attendance record is satisfactory; that their conduct or disciplinary record is satisfactory; and that their grades are satisfactory.
  • Must have signed parental authorization where applicable.
